Join us for the Alligator Collection!
The Alligator Collection includes drumming patterns from Guinea, West Africa. These patterns often accompany a song and dance called "Kakilambe" a mask-dance song performed annually by the Baga people of Guinea to celebrate life and the growth of crops. We'll clap, stomp, and drum along to the lively beat of the Ghanaian singing game, “Tue Tue,” do some zydeco line dancing in "Alligator Zydeco," and tweedle deet our way through our unique version of the classic American folk song, “The Green Grass Grows All Around,” a new addition to the Alligator collection for 2025. All 18 selections in this collection have been chosen and arranged specifically to support your child's music development.

• You must be at least 4 years old to attend the Rhythm Kids^® class.
• 45-minute class. ONCE a week. 9 weeks total.
• Tuition: Tuition included material set (songbook, CD, and digital mp3).
  • 1st child: $284 
  • 1st sibling: $234
  • 2nd sibling: $180

• Mixed-level class: Students must be at least 4 years old.
  • If the child is under 6 years old, parents need to be in the class and might participate together if your child needs you to assist them.
  • For children who are 6 years and older, parents could decide whether to stay in the class with their child or not.    

To join the Rhythm Kids^®, students are encouraged to bring their own Djembe drum. We will provide it in the class, but it's more valuable if you have one and could practice at home.

ABOUT Rhythm Kids^® 

Big kids know what they like. Telling silly stories. Playing games. Being in charge. Designed specifically for pre-K and early elementary students, our active Rhythm Kids^® classes for big kids tap into how children this age are wired to learn, with music games, animal rhythm stories, and lots of stomping-flying-climbing fun-plus the added bonus of learning the Djembe drum!  Rhythm Kids^® is just the thing to encourage your children to start making music with their friends. By the end of the semester, they’ll be proud to show off what they’ve learned: to you, their friends and teachers, and—let’s face it—for some kids, every person they meet!  Both in-person and online classes meet for 45 minutes weekly, for a nine week session. Songbook, CD and digital downloads included in tuition.

Rhythm Kids^® guides children 4y-8y toward developmentally appropriate music and movement activities, where they can begin to take charge, lead others, and be musically creative, as they:

• make up their own drumming patterns
• invent new ways to play rhythm instruments (shakers, sticks, etc.)
• create movement ideas for songs
• even take a drum solo!

Your child will:

• Explore the world of rhythm through movement, instrument play, and song
• Develop basic rhythm skills, like keeping beat, improvising, ensemble play, and soloing
• Learn to create, cooperate, and express themselves musically
