Get out your guitar and play along!
If you’ve always wanted to learn how to play guitar, the Music Together® Guitar for Grownups is perfect for you! In class, we’ll teach you how to play some of the songs we’re singing this semester so you can amaze your family and be a rock star at home! Our method of simplifying and modifying chords will have you playing songs the very first day. Classes take place in a relaxed group setting to give you an enjoyable, grownups-only night out.
No experience necessary
Guitar for Grownups is appropriate for beginners as well as those who know a little guitar. Bring a guitar and capo to first class. You’ll leave knowing how to use them!

“The best part of the class is how my children gather around me when I practice at home.
They think I’m a rock star! I’m in trouble, though, because when I play ‘A Ram Sam Sam,’
my daughter keeps saying, ‘Faster! Faster! Faster!’”
— Music Together® Parent
Class information:
This class is specifically designed as a supplemental course for current parents, so the prerequisite is that your child must also be enrolled in the current semester —Maracas Collection Spring 2026. The materials we use are directly tied to that semester’s curriculum, and we will ask you to bring the Spring songbook to class. The guitar for grown-ups won't offer an extra material set. We share the book that your child uses in the MT mixed-age group.
Teacher's Bio

Teacher Ranjani, with over 15 years of teaching experience, has dedicated my life to sharing the power of music. I have a gift for working with students of all ages—from beginners picking up their first instrument to those with a strong background in music history who want to deepen their craft. Whether guiding a child through their first guitar chords or helping an adult explore the nuances of folk traditions, I bring patience, encouragement, and genuine joy to every lesson.
I am so excited to be teaching Guitar For Grownups. The Music Together Collection has been such an inspiration to me and the children. Being able to play those songs on the piano and guitar has inspired my 5-year-old to play instruments as well. It has brought us closer together, even with my 15-month-old being able to play and sing at home. And has brought us closer together playing at home. I know it is the same for all families. Children want to be present with their caretakers, and what better way than to learn by playing the music they love!
